Green Sand's LEED consulting services provided sustainability consulitng and LEED management services for a demonstration project in Hawaii. Services included contractor training, LEED feasibility analysis, LEED design, preliminary LEED Checklist, LEED documentation preparation and management, workshops and tours.

It was exciting project that showcased many LEED strategies. The owner's are ver pleased regarding the LEED for Homes Platinum certification.

Green Sand wins award at 2011 Parade of Homes: Sustainable Lifestyle Sustainable Homes by Brian Kossen

Green Sand is awarded the prestigious AIA Design Achievement in Architecture at the 2011 BIA Parade of Homes for their Pulewa Plan B at Mehana in Kapolei, Hawaii.

Pulewa at Mehana has an architectural style that embraces the urban lifestyle. The Nenea model offers the convenience of townhome living with the openness of a single family home. The private back entrance and landscaped yard area contributes to the overall welcoming effect. The dramatic nine-foot ceiling and well designed kitchen with it wide counter make entertaining a pleasure. Pulewa offers efficient energy use for a greener environment.

LEED Gold Certification by Brian Kossen

Green Sand provided LEED consulting for the Oceanic Time Warner Operations Center in Mililani. This was a particularly challenging project due to the fact that the building was under construction when the decision was made to go for LEED certification. The project owners were fully committed to the process and it was a very rewardng experience. The lowest level of certification would have been sufficient for most project with a late start but for this project the committment was made to go for the Gold under LEED-NC and we made sre it happened.

National Green Building Standard Certification by Brian Kossen

Green Sand's LEED consulting services provided sustainability consulitng and National Green Building Standard management services for a demonstration project in Hawaii. Services included contractor training, feasibility analysis, design, preliminaryChecklist,  documentation preparation and management, workshops and tours.

It was exciting project that showcased many sustainable strategies. The project also was a demonstration project to compare and contract the LEED system with the NGBS program.

Five LEED Gold Projects in Kailua Kona by Brian Kossen

Five individual homes in the Department of Hawaiian Homelands development in Kona Hawaii received LEED Gold Certification. The goal was LEED Silver but with our assistance the project beat their goal and achieved Gold. The entire development is built to the same high level and LEED standard. Due to budgetary contrains only one of each model type was formally certified.

Top 25 Architecture Firms - Oahu by Brian Kossen

In the Pacific Business News annual report, Green Sand Inc. is ranked amount the top 25 Architecture Firms on Oahu. PBN reports that Green Sand Inc. specializes in sustainable design, residential, retail, medical, LEED management and processing, as well as National Green Building Standard management and processing.

Green Sand Inc. also provides master planning, interior design and furnture design services as well as full service architectural service.

LEED Gold for Five Homes in Waimanalo by Brian Kossen

The entire development of Kumuhau in Waimanalo was built to LEED Gold standards. One of each model type was randomly selected for formal LEED certification. Due to bugetary constraints, it was not possible to certied all the homes in the development but the owners of the Department of Hawaiian Homelands homes are thrilled to be living green. The attendance at the LEED training and orientation was outstanding as the new homeowners learned about green features and living green.
